Read My Story

In 2021, I moved to Perak, West Malaysia, with my two sons.
We came in search of a new lifestyle—and more importantly, a new kind of education for them.

Malaysia is a place where people of different faiths, cultures, and backgrounds live together in quiet harmony.
At a time when the world often feels divided, I believe the openness, tolerance, and ability to embrace differences that I’ve seen here are qualities the next generation truly needs.

In 2023, seeking a deeper connection with the local way of life, we moved again—this time to Kuching, Sarawak.
Here, life moves gently. People are warm and kind, and in both Perak and Sarawak, I’ve met so many who seem to embody the spirit of what it means to live richly—not in material terms, but in kindness, simplicity, and community.

My children are growing up surrounded by this richness. And as I live and learn alongside them, I’m constantly reminded how much I have to gain from simply being here.

This blog is my personal reflection on what it means to live in Malaysia as a foreigner.
It’s not about offering advice, but about listening, learning, and writing with a sense of respect—for the languages, the cultures, and the quiet wisdom of the people around us.

Through these stories, I hope to honor that spirit—and to share with others a glimpse into the beauty of this place I now call home.
